The Jersey Shore Partnership congratulates the Star Ledger columnist Mark Di Ionno for his summer series “Jersey Shore Diary.” The Essex and Sussex Hotel of Spring Lake, the Amusement park at Keansburg, the seaside solitude at Cape May Point, and the spirited lifeguard competition in Belmar reflect the diversity that the Jersey Shore offers. People visit the Jersey Shore to relive childhood memories, introduce their children to the shore, and explore the many unique places to visit.
Each of these destinations shares a unique treasure - our beautiful, sandy beaches. The Jersey Shore Partnership has worked diligently and passionately for the past 20 years to ensure that New Jersey beaches are preserved for the millions of people who choose the Jersey Shore as their destination. Through a partnership with the state and local municipalities and support from the federal government, New Jersey beaches are replenished and maintained to protect them from erosion that threatens our health and safety. The Star Ledger series is a great boost to New Jersey's shore tourism economy. We look forward to future installments of “Jersey Shore Diary” as we continue our work to ensure the vitality of our shore economy.
