New Jersey’s coastal community mourns the loss of Bernie Moore. Bernie served more than 40 years with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. During that time, he served as Director of Coastal Engineering and Administrator for the Division of Engineering and Construction. Moore became New Jersey’s leading expert on shore replenishment issues and one of its most vocal advocates for restoring beaches to protect lives and property. His steadfast leadership laid the foundation for the State’s beach protection program.
